A ceremony was held in the Baron Palace Garden for awarding and distributing prizes to the winners of the “Seddik Afifi Award for Scientific Research, Innovation and Arts.” The scientific committee of the prize and the team of external arbitrators had ended up awarding 9 prizes to the winners of the competition.
During the great ceremony, which was attended by many important and influential figures in society, whether at the scientific, cultural, or even political and artistic levels, prizes were distributed to the winners, namely: “Professor Dr. Khaled Abul-Fath, Professor of Veterinary Medicine - Mansoura University - Dr. El-Sayed Mohamed Abdel-Karim, a lectuer at the Faculty of Medicine Sohag University.” - Prof. Dr. Sameh Hamdi Sorour, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Helwan University - Prof. Ahmed Abdel Rahim Hussein, Professor of Microbiology and Technology at Alexandria University - Prof. Dr. Hisham Mahmoud Sayed, Professor of Biochemistry at Alexandria University - Prof. Dr. Abu El-Ela Al-Atifi, Professor of Computer Science - Cairo University - Prof. Mahmoud El-Hefnawi Professor of Information Systems at the National Research Center - Prof. Dr. Rania Hathout, Professor of Pharmaceutics - Ain Shams University - Dr. Magdy Mustafa Al-Qosy.
Dr. Nadia Zaghary, the former Minister of Scientific Research, chaired the scientific committee of the award, and a group of scholars from different universities participated in the arbitration, as well as Dr. Salah Fadl, head of the Arabic Language Academy.
A large number of current and former ministers, heads of research centers, governors, artists and media professionals attended the ceremony of announcing the winners and distributing financial prizes to them with the prize sponsor, Dr. Seddik Afifi, to participate in appreciating and honoring the winners. Honoring the winners and affirming their appreciation for researchers and creators.
During the honoring and awarding ceremony, Prof. Dr. Soad Abdel-Khalek stated that the competition will be organized annually, adding that the demand for progress from researchers and scientists reflects the urgent need for such awards to give a strong motivation to researchers, thinkers and writers.
